So I have a couple questions:
1) what is this plant? I thought for a while it was Baby Tears (not dwarf baby tears) but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong.

2) how do I trip it down without killing it? I've heard the cutting off the apical meristem will kill it or make it not grow upward any more and I don't want that. I just want to trim it back.ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1426256306.739766.jpg

Looks like bacopa caroliniana. You can trim it wherever, it will send an offshoot just under where it was cut. The trimmed portion can be replanted as well.

Looks like Bacopa to me as well. One of my early favorites. When replanting, leave enough space between the stems, so that the leaves don't quite touch each other.
