Hey guys i currently have a 29gal biocube and it has 2 36watt atnic bulbs and I really want to look into alternative lighting sources. the problem is I really don't know too much about lighting systems since I've only had fish only tanks. So I was wondering if there are any links, articles, books, or threads that you personally refer to or recommend. thanks in advance

Google "Sanjay's Lighting Guide" and you'll get a series of articles that are pretty thorough. Be prepared to study as much of the information is pretty technical, although he does try to speak in layman's terms.
The reality is there is no one single answer to "what is the best lighting system for my tank?" You can get lots of opinions, and think you can get a consensus as to when a given system is not enough, though.
