i Just installed some cheap powerheads I bought off ebay for like $35 for two.

I have a 36 gallon.

they are 800 GPH each.

is that overkill for my tank?????

I put them on opposite sides of each other, it looks like they are making almost water tornadoes,

I AM AFRAID IT WILL STRESS OUT MY FISH!!! or will they be fine??

PLZ HELP ASAP!!!!!

They should be fine , what are your tanks inhabatiants ?
You could off set them a bit to break it up a bit . Drop one to mid or lower level and one to surface agitate .... I have 2 korilia nanos in my 10 along with a skimmer and a filter for a 50 gallon tank which works out to about 2000gph in my 10 and every one is fine there HTH :D sadie

Random flow is the name of the game in the reef. You don't want to create a whirlpool. I agree that you will be just fine with those in the tank. Take some of the suggestions Sadielynn offered they are sound!

point them at each other. thats that i did, you get your flow, plus the random water flow. works pretty good i think

what if I only use one powerhead in 1 corner and just point it up will that be enough flow for a 36 gallon?

Or is 2 of them mandatory.

You can try it and see but I see no need to remove one ..
