Hello! I have a 20g aquarium cycling at 78 F, and I was wondering how to breed neon tetras efficiently and fast. It has a sponge filter, a few small plants, a piece of driftwood, sand substrate, and I have borrowed a breeding net as well. Is there anything I should know before I go into this? Also, there will be kuhli loaches in the tank with them. Thank you! (I can provide pictures, but the tetras are in a 10g for the time being)

They scatter eggs and the eggs will likely be eaten by the kuhlie or the neons themselves.
I believe breeders use multiple tanks and move the parents after they drop eggs.

Often a layer of marbles is used as subtrate for fish who scatter eggs, as they fall down between and the adults can't get to them, then remove adults and raise the fry in that tank.

Ok that's a good idea! I'm planning on getting guppy grass too, which could serve as a hiding spot for fry.
