New Aquarium Help

Hey all

I'm new to aquariums and am finding it more and more interesting. I currently have a 5 gallon tank with 10 neon tetras and 3 java ferns. I don't have a filter or heater. I was curious if anybody had any advice. Do I need a filter and heater? I'm also debating about upgrading to a 20 gallon tank. Is it worth it? Any advice is appreciated.

You need a heater ad filter system and def upgrade that's alot fish for a 5 gal

Do 50% water changes daily until you have a filter on your tank for a couple months. You have to get your filter cycled and it takes that long. Your fish will have to endure this process of ammonia and nitrite spikes which unfortunately neons don't do well during cycling.
