tanks everybody for the welcome :)
Blazeherd.. I like your parrot cichlid and have a question for ya. I'm setting up a new 90 Gal this Summer and want one or two "big, colorful" fish, such as your parrot. I plan to stock it with corys, emerald cats, gouramis, adf's and assorted tetras. My question is, how will they get along.. will the tetras be food for the parrot?

Thx,

Dave

if you made the drive up the mountain to Boone, there are two bright orange parrot fish that have been waiting for a home for a long time at my LFS... then again, I'm sure there are plenty in your area because there are tons of great stores.

The tetras should be fine as long as they are big tetras such as black skirt tetras. I don't know if they are compatible with ADF, but I'm sure there will be no problems. Blood parrots can get upto 8" long and can be semi-aggressive, so I really wouldn't put cories or any other small fish with it. You could look into Jelly bean parrots because they only get up to 6" and are less aggressive from what I've heard.

Sorry, I just found out jellybean parrots are more aggressive than blood parrots because they are crossbreeded with a convict cichlid. If you really want to keep cories, it may be best to look into other fish like angels.
