Oh ok ghost shrimp are cheaper here they are .39 cents and amano are 2.62

I would personally go with ghosts as a trial run because they are so much less expensive!

I would do amino because they will not be eaten, ghost shrimp run the risk of being eaten by the betta....

Huh... having had both I’m not sure why you would say amanos are less likely to be eaten? They’re both about the same size. At least in my area the ghosts are actually likely to be bigger than the amanos when you buy them.

Maybe what are locally called “ghost shrimp” in your area is different. A lot of different species are often sold as ghost shrimp but the Paleomonetes species ghost shrimp which is what most of them are, are the same adult size as an amano 1.5-2 inches.

I think the point of this conversation for the OP is, they might get eaten so if you’re going to try shrimp start out with just a couple and larger shrimp, if you can, to see if your betta will leave them alone.
