What is the temperature in the tank? if the temp is too low it can cause a fish to lose its color and look pale. Another thing, fish also lose their color when they are stressed...I would add some stresscoat when you do water changes...you can use the stresscoat to dechlorinate your water

the temp in the tank stays around 76, and everytime i change water, i use start right which claims to remove chlorine, chloramine, and other heavy metals. it is also suppose to stimulate the natural slime coat and claims that it reduces stress in fish and adds beneficial electrolites. i don't know if the little tab can do all that it claims, but I've been using it since i set up my tank in january/march. should i switch over to stresscoat? is it a better product, or am i fine using start right? there are so many products out there, it is confusing.
