I am planning on making a 25 gallon mbuna tank, probably auratus. This will be my first brackish tank. Any input on other possibilities that I could have and/or how many, they would have to be available at petsmart as that is the closest fishstore within about an 1 1/2 hour radius:( not even a petco. Any ideas are appreciated as I'm a complete newb with brackish.

You may want to do some more research....a lot more research

Auratus are from lake Malawi in Eastern Africa, a completely freshwater lake. No salt whatsoever.

Auratus are highly territorial and require proper stocking to not be homicidal maniacs.

With that said, a 4' tank is a minimum. That is a 55 minimum, although a 75 with this species would be much better. Auratus would be a poor choice for your sized tank.

Ok, thank you so much. So any ideas? I just thought that Tanganyika or Malawi were both brackish. Might do some convicts.
