What is this called? I see them all the time. The color is a darker green than I'm depicting here.

Halimeda. Calcareous macro algae.

Welcome. It's as good as any macro for nutrient uptake, better than some, as it rarely goes sexual, like Caulerpa. It's also pretty.

OTOH, since it is a calcareous macro, it will also use up calcium in your system, so, keep an eye on your ca levels, and don't let it grow out of control.
