You can get a light with "legs" that attach to the sides of the tank and have the light sit above the tank. This is why glass tops are recommended. I saw this site from another thread on this forum and the prices of these t5ho's are really good because they include the bulbs and let you choose the type of bulbs you want (included) at the time of purchase.
