Any one have any idea what these are they look bad like parasites and how would I get rid of them I just got my shrimp into an awesome breeding cycle so I dont want to start losing them again

Its the little hair like things on the sponge filter.

Hydra. Definitely a nuisance. Potential to trap baby shrimp. I've had them in my tank but they went away on their own.
Google "Fenbendazole hydra" and you will find several hits on using this de-wormer medication for the safe eradication of hydra and planaria from the aquarium.

They will make new ones from any parts, that are cut apart or missed in picking them off. You double your problem.

My preference for this is liquid goat dewormer, mixes better with aquarium water and easier to measure. This is the stuff, but you can probably find it cheaper.
