Yea I was trying an external but i couldn't figure out a way to route the excess co2 that was accumulating in the PVC pipe into the intake so I went with an internal reactor. The plan Is to paint the blue part black and the plants will hide it soon enough.
 
Thats what i have. Wait, now im confused. I have 2 15w bulbs. 30w combined.

I think its more important to look a t lumen output. With lighting becoming more efficient you will see more lumens out of a linear T8 that you would a CFL in the same wattage. Also color spectrum I think plays a factor. I noticed that the plant lamps are mostly red and blue spectrum.

Mine aren't anywhere near as nice as these, still got a lot of work to do on them, plants have just started to grow. Its taken a while to get them going, especially the 20 gallon as the light is no where near adequate, getting a new one soon! :grin:

Here is my new 20gal I picked up at petco $1/1gal sale. Kinda Frankensteined it from misc parts I had laying around. So far this build cost me less than $60. Including dual T5HO lighting.
