I recently found an 8-9 inch oscar on a free stuff post..the guy had him in a 5 gal bucket half full of water lid on tight..I saw it and had to do something I had an empty 25 gallon tank and after hours of slowly bringing his temp from around 94°f to 78°-79°f ( or was a 106°day he had him in the bucket for 16 hours) anyway named henry now and doing very well..I know he needs a lot more room my question is a 75-90 gallon tank is expensive I have a lps that has lay away..how do I make him more comfortable in the mean time??

Get a 50 gal brute barrel? Check Craig's list for bigger tanks?

Check the local pet shops, some are doing a dollar per gallon sale, a 55 gal in a pinch.. until then, daily 60% wcs

That was abuse..he is the most personable fish I've ever seen..emotional even I cannot fathom how anyone can do that I feel bad for the conditions now..I was heartbroken before

I don't think that includes a stand so you have to either have one or be able to afford one

Good job . If I had a bigger tank and was closer I would let you have it for being so caring for an animal . As for his previous owner...there is just no fixing stupid .

How I found him... he wouldn't move when touched the water was 95.4°F
