SEAWEEDS 90g BUILD/TRANSFORMATION

Finally picked up the 90g yesterday
Now I can start building the new home for my 2 existing reef tanks
it's been a long time coming since I put a engine hoist through my 100g tank I was going to build 2 years ago

also picked up the lumber to build the stand and also a support wall in the basement , I don't want to see my new tank fall through the floor of my 70+ year old house lol

My plans are to transfer my 2 existing tanks to one
once this is complete I will start phase 2

today I plan on building the stand and support wall and maybe get the rhino coat sprayed on to the back and sides of tank , my daughter said she would help stain the stand after it's built , she wants to air brush the stand with fish and all the creatures of the sea , she's very talented so I know I can trust her

once everything is finished and ready to get started I will add step by step
details of the things that have been done along with lots of pictures

Following along! I think I'm finally going to settle with a 90g so this thread might come in handy lol

wow what a hectic day was already to cut all the pieces to build stand to find that blade was dull, so I found my burned out saw cause it had a sharp blade , took it off to find the blade was cracked in the center ,
not a very good start , I found a good blade halfway through the day and got everything cut,
ok after all that stress I got most of the stand done , still needs a few studs to support tank and needs to be either wrapped of stained still debating both
I'm leaning more to wrapping it , here's what I got done yesterday

I decided I'm going to wrap it , I still need to add a few support studs in back , also need to build a small stand inside to raise sump off floor about 10", I'm going with a 20 long since after I built stand I found the 40b I was going to use was to tall , just ordered another chinese led fixture , I almost forgot about that lol
busy day today wrap stand along with support wall in basement
I'll post more of progress along with pictures tonight
once in place I need to add sump tank before adding front support otherwise I can't get it in lol

got stand wrapped still have to get corner moldings to finish off stand
stand is starting to look nice I am thinking about having glass doors made

getting tank ready to spray the rhino coat tomorrow and build support wall down stairs
should have corner molding either tomorrow or sun than I can get tank and stand in place

Stayed up late last night got tank sprayed
looks great I decided to spray the 3 sides
this should concentrate light to the inside of tank
and not send a glare through room since my wife already complains about the glare from the light next to couch lol

The streaks are only since its still not completely dry

today I went down stars to build a support wall and found a big screw up ,
who ever built the house 70 years ago ran the floor joists the length of the house instead of the width so it makes it hard to build a support wall without blocking off the whole room in basement , bad part is if a building inspector saw this he would deem house unlivable till brought up to code, so I know what I'll be doing in near future,
but till then I'm moving forward on my tank build
I just added a few 4x4 to support beams tank rest on till I can correctly fix this issue

completed the stand got molding on it , came out nice ,
moved it to where it will stay and placed the tank on top
of stand , starting to make the egg crate tops , after that I will add sand and start to fill with water , and place power heads ,and slowly build scape as I fill

Not yet just all the existing stock

today is the day to add sand get all the equipment transferred over
trying to get wife and daughter out of the house so there not under my feet all day

just need to stay focused so there's no mistakes
I plan on a smooth transition

That was done pretty quick and well done. I wish my paint job looked that nice, but gave an 'it'll do' since the tank was running when I did it.

I used that cheap flooring I had left over from flooring a bedroom
I wanted it to look like a piece of furniture
got sand in and 1 power-head and started filling about to add a heater
than the rock
I just got the wife and daughter out from under my feet
rodi salt water was sitting in buckets with bubblers
I left them near the fireplace and maintained a steady 78* talk about luck lol

I found a sump I can bury on one side of stand leaving me enough room for another tank 20L cant beat that oh and a 10 g feeder tank stashed on other side
once I get to that point I'll get picts

wow what a long hectic three days
finally got all the rock and livestock and coral into the new tank
I was stressing I would see a big swing so far I haven't any sort of swing
been testing 2x a day to be safe
I also used that bacteria in a bottle
the tank has close too 150# of live rock
I have yet to find the sweet spot to get a picture with no glare
even with all the coral I added from the two tanks this tank still looks bare
I need to research how soon I can start dosing 2 part
I'm not fond of dosing but I want to get everything back the way it was nice and full
I still need to break down the two tanks get them cleaned up and list them
I need to find a return pump so I can get the sump up and running so I can 86 the two temporary hobs

Got the second tank fitted so I can get measurements ,
to fit the wet/dry filter on left I either have to trim 2 inches off each corner the width of the plexiglass tank or make a 2 inch notch in 1 of the studs in the stand ,
if I notch the tank it will slide right in between the 2 studs , after long thought I decided to notch the plexiglass tank it seems to be easier than messing with the integrity of the stand , as for the feeder tank looks as though I have to down size to a 5 gal tank ,
looking at my original plans I must of overlooked a measurement or 2 ,
this is what it looks like now until I get everything setup to fit into place
than I have to remove 20L just long enough to place the 2 tanks inside the stand ,

any thoughts on this before I start cutting into the wet/dry tank ?
or does this seem more feasible __________________

yes hob over flows
just ordered a new sump since I cut the first box wrong now it leaks lol glad the first one was free
well I just started phase 2 or is this 3 lmao
still need to wrap the stand like the other one
I need to catch up with myself getting to far ahead to fast lmao
will be about a month before i continue the newest tank
scary part is I thought I was consolidating
it's just to dang addicting

Finally got to add the upright sump along with the auto feed
I got it hooked up to the 90g and also the 20L below
just can't get over how quiet it is now
also adding new power heads to all the tanks
Two 1250 ph to the 90 Two 900 ph to the 40 one 700 and 1 450 to the 20
it was weird every thing went out at the same time guess it was better it did now since I had extra cash this month
