Self-dimming timer

Has anyone heard of a auto-dimming timer? It would be like a normal timer we use to shut off the aquarium lights, but would have a feature that would slowlyg reduce lighting over an hour or something. Does anyone have any experience with such a thing?

Is your lighting incandecant or florecent? Your florecent fixture needs to be compatible with your dimmer. The Ice Cap ballasts have a controller by a partner company that does dimming and on/off, but it's a pretty pricy option.
