I'm sitting here at petco looking at this 55 gallon for $55 for the dollar per gallon sale. They don't have a 75 gal which is what I wanted. I want a cichlid tank with a decent amount of cichlids in them. Should I wait on a 75 or would a 55 be just as nice?

get the 75. Much more roomy IMO

Get a 75. It gives you much more options, as well as nicer and bigger view. It doesn't necessarely offer more room if this is a cichlid tank, just more fish available to add. Unless, yes in some cases, it might give more room.
