I have had some experience with bettas and for the mso tpart they get along great with other fish. You have to watch though if it is with a female betta he will tend to chase her around. as far as getting one for a community tank id say go for it. as far as keeping him in a tiny bowl..... i wouldnt reccommend it kind of mean but so is a little cup
