Shrimp and Glass Catfish Advice

I am wanting some shrimp. I want the standard ones (red cherry, ghost, amanos, ect) do they have to be fed anything specific or will they eat the fish food that falls to the bottom?
Secondly. I am planning a nano tank for scarlett badiss, crocidile toothpicks, and a schooling fish. Would ghost catfish be ok? I love these fish but worry about food compitition for the badiss and aggresion. How would it work out?

I may be wrong but shrimp are scavengers mostly so you shouldn't have to worry to much on feeding them some even eat alea.
