29 gallon hit .5 ppm ammonia over night. That's a lot better than the past few nights so I think the worst is over. Once the biofilter stabalizes completely I think it'll be alright to move the filter and fish to the 55 gallon.

Good to hear! Have you tested you nitrItes?

Nitrites have been 0 all along, weirdly/miraculously. Also, ammonia is down to 0! Do ya'll think that if I move the filter itself to the new 55 I can safely move all the fish with it?

As long as this is just the same stocking the 29 has had it would cause no more trouble with the cycle IMO.
No matter how high ammonia went,
I think 3 days to get ammonia to zero is a minicycle?
I am glad you got through it!
You may experience the same going to the 55 but with the increase in volume I think you would not unless the filter is still recovering.

Honestly I would agree with it being a mini cycle at this point. Just never seen one where the ammonia peaked at 8. Actually, I've never had ammo in a tank hit 8 except overdosing a fishless cycle.

Tonight we'll move everything to the 55 and post pictures!

Meanwhile, still no progress on the ram tank. 2/0/0 are the paramers.

And tomorrow we'll rearrange some filters and pick up some more sponge filters so we can move the angels!

I wish! This tank is in the living room, so we don't want any lower-level tanks.

OK, 29 gallon got renovated yesterday! Added a ton of jungle vals courtesy of popparyna! Also got an air pump and moved the sponge filter from the 29 gallon over along with the angels themselves.
