Stowaway sea star

I got live rock and an empty shell from the LFS today. Dipped it in my water before intro to the tank and found a small sea star stowed away. It's beige, 5 stubby arms, 4mm armspan. It came from the store reef tank. Is it safe to intro this to my 10G reef?

Yes, I have button polyps and a pumping xenia.

well I had some stow away stars and I know that some of them can be very aggressive towards coral. On the other hand, some are only algae eaters. Look up asterina starfish and see if thats what you got
