I recently purchased a marginally larger tank and was wondering if I needed to cycle the new tank or if I could just transfer everything to the old tank to the new tank and add new water. I can't see any reason as to why i would need to cycle the new tank. Seems to me like it would already be cycled.

You can just transfer everything but you may see a mini cycle which a few water changes will solve

You will definitely see a small cycle. Larger space with the same bioload and amount of bacteria will set everything off for a little while. Just watch the parameters and do PWC where needed. I would wait a month or so if you are wanting to add more stock too.

I agree just move everything over. I just upgraded as well and I moved over both filters but completely changed out the substrate and removed some decorations and I didn't even have a mini-cycle at all, you should be fine.
