My cichlid tank has been holding steady at 82 for the last couple days. I know that's slightly high but I'm afraid to change it being that they're doing fine. Any suggestions?
The parameters say 72-82Heat accelerates many fishes life even if they don't show discomfort.
If it is above the recommended temp for fish you have I would try to lower it.
I keep my rams at 82-86 and most fish do not tolerate this well long term.
Ok cool. Thanks"seasonal " swings should not be a problem IMO then.
You can add an air stone or even just a fan across the top of tank to "naturally " cool the tank some ..
