I found the Trigger behind the tank on the carpet. There must have been some kind of blue throat trigger jump day as I read that Mr X's jumped recently too. I guess it is time to add egg crate to the rear portion of this tank.

Sorry about this, Todd. I have had fish jump too in prior tanks.
I hope you can find your pair soon. :) That will be a cool addition, I have always been interested in Marine pairs, as many saltwater fish seem to not like conspecifics if they are not a pair. It is certainly different from many freshwater species!

Mine jumped also. That's strange haha. But mine seems to be a regular jumper. He had made it out 4 or maybe 5 times?

No Lyretail Hogs this week, but I got a $110 Harlequin Tusk for $75. This have been another of my "dream fish". Never had one of my own and my heart was jumping when the owner said he'd let it go for so much less than posted at the store. It's in QT now....it's already eating too...

I also got a Rusty Angel. I'm not sure if it will go in my 240 or in my son's 60g. Not eating, so we will see....

What a beauty!

$75?? What a great deal. I paid $180 for mine. Mine was kind of large (6") to keep him out of my lion's mouth. He's a great fish. Tons of personality, but a bit skittish at times. Between my puffer and tusk, my shelled inverts don't have a chance. It's a constant replenishing.

Mine is in the 5-6" ballpark. I'm assuming it's not an Aussie, but it has a lot of blue. I was just excited about the price drop and I'm thrilled it's eating.

I still want to find a Lyretail Hog and I think next I will add either two juvie Angels or a pair of Blue Jaw Triggers.

I decided to put the Tusk in after only a week in QT. it was eating great but the Ammonia would not stay zero and the Nitrates were getting higher than I liked too fast.
It went in last night and so far, the Purple Tang is not appreciating the addition.

My Tusk is quite a sissy. I had to donate my yellow tang back to the LFS because it was picking on my Tusk. (and lion which stung him). They only use those big blue teeth to pick on snails.

Love your Harlequin Tusk, Todd!

That is exciting about being able to find the Lyretail Hogfish you've been looking for, I bet it is super frustrating to look for a species and to not be able to find it. They are so unique, I love their shape/color/pattern.

I've wanted one for a long time. I've never had to look this long for a fish, so hopefully it is healthy. They sent me a couple more pics...

The Tusk is doing great. Eats like a pig. It kinda hangs out on one side of the tank away from the other fish, but then cruises over in between them, so it's not like it is afraid of them.

Look at it this way, it's better that he decided to try his luck at carpet surfing before you paid for him rather than after

I had already paid for it, but they are going to try and find me another one. I think they had it in a smaller tank and it probably felt it needed more room.

Sorry to hear that, I hope you have better luck next time
