Gm. My name is Shellie. I would like to ask if i I can take my algae eater out of one tank and put the algae eater. Into my other tank. But I want to return the algae eater to the 1st tank eventually. There is a Jack Dempsey in the tank I want to put the algae eater in for a little while?

If they use the same water there isnt much issue just plopping the AE in the other tank. However to be safe and reduce stress do a transfer just like you would if you bought him new.

Put him in a bag, float the bag in the new tank, add a bit of tank water to the bag once every 15mins about 3-4times. Easy.

If the tank temps are within 2 degrees of each other then just stick him in the other tank
