Water Parameter Advice for Rift Lake Tank

I've been looking at eBay and there's a bunch of nice looking overflows for $50

You can order skimmer boxes from pro-clear. Just call them they are really nice. It will help because you can get a prefilter that fits well...Ill try and find a picture of what im talking about. If you went the DIY route you could paint the PVC pipe black. I painted the outside back of my tank black. It would blend right in.

So is standard PVC cement safe for the fish? Any risk of contaminants leaching into the water afterward?

I think I'm going to take a stab at this. I'm fairly handy and a tightwad so it seems like the right fit for me. Plus (admittedly moreso) it looks like a fun challenge.

I dont know for sure. I know in the video where the guy builds the pvc overflow manifold, he mentions glue up. I think he refers to another video he does where he discusses glue in more detail. It safe for piping for drinking water, I wouldnt think its bad once its dried
