Hello everyone,

I've been keeping African Cichlids for a few years and recently, one of them has been developing tumor-like bumps all over it.

It's progressively getting worse.

My other fish seem healthy, but I have lost a few over the months. None ever looked like this fish though. One died after trying to jump out of the tank (hit the lid) and a few others were eaten.

My stock is low, but I'm hesitant on adding new fish in case there's some disease or something in the tank.

It's mouth has recently started to swell and develop growths. It still swims and eats, but usually likes to rest behind the HOB filter intake tube. What could be the diagnosis and does anyone know what I should do?

I’m not a vet but I did just go through something similar with a white skirt tetra. I believe it’s Lymphocystis.

Thank you. This does seem to match my fish's symptoms. How did you manage it with your fish?

From what I read, it's hard to control because it has a long dormancy period and some fish are carriers who don't show symptoms.
