Will cichlids soon be endangered in the wild

I have seen so many ads selling wild caught cichlids that I have to wonder

I believe a lot of cichlids are endangered. I went to lake Malawi and took a tour of the hatcheries right next the lake, I wonder if those are sold as "wild caught". Unless you pull them out of the lake yourself I would wonder about the legitimacy any wild caught claim.

That is interesting because that's not the way most of us look at African countries. It maybe elitism, but we tend to look at things like restocking through hatcheries as a Western thing.
 
There is a large scale for endangered species. Some are VU Like the Otopharanx. Others are endangered ED, and I'm sure some are extinct EX, but I don't think the lake is in danger, and new species will emerge. Such is life.
