Angel getting defensive

Recently my 4" Altum has gotten very aggressive towards my loaches and danios. He is the only angel, and has been for a while now.

Residents:
5 clown loaches (2-3")
5 zebra danios
1 medium pleco
1 altum angle

Any thoughts? Should i get him a friend? This is a 55g planted tank.

I think angels do best in a group of 2-3 actually

It is all a territory issue. The loaches are probably trying to invade the altum's 10-15 gallon space. They see it as new hunting grounds and the altum is probably the boarder patrol not allowing access.
