Anything for a 45 gallon tank?

I'm getting a 45 gallon tank and wanted some/a Blood Parrot Cichlid. Is this possible?

The dimension are 36x12x24. Is there anything that is relatively large that I can get? For a 45 gallon, it seems I can only get small fish. I'm very interested in Cichlids.

i just upgraded from a 45 to a 90 gal..... i thought the 45 was HUGE when i bought it.... it got overstocked very quick.

Blood parrots range is 45, so in a sense yes that would be fine imo for a single blood parrot and maybe some corys, but i wouldnt put anything more than that in there. BP's get pretty friggen big.

My favorite FW fish is the Green or gold Severum. Minimum tank size is 30 gallons. I like to window shopping at www.liveaquaria.com they list good information for each fish, like minimum tank size and temperament.

Not sure if you have decided or not. You could do some relatively small west africans.

1) Pseudocrenilabrus Nicholsi


2) Pseudocrenilabrus Multicolor Victoriae


Combine this with some Tanganyikan Cat such as Synodontis Petricola fish and you will have a nice looking tank.
