you mean not all the tanks will be full together?

I meant the load on the floor is only added as the tanks get filled, if a rack has too much weight then I will get an extra rack to fit the left over tanks to spread the load.

Not much done today, just got in contact with a sign writer to get 25m (82 ft) of adhesive vinyl to back the tank. Yes I got extra. That arrives tomorrow.

Looking good so far! Just washed 40lbs of sand last night, I forgot how much fun it was! I can only imagine doing 110lbs! Those shelves are nice, we have something very similar at work that we store spools of wire on. They can definitely hold some serious weight.

Again, thanks for all the comments and questions. I have 8 more 25kg (55lb) bags of sand. Not sure if I will need them all now, but I see a lot of sand washing in the near future.

So, I am taking a break from laminating the tanks. It is bloody hard to get right. Not too happy withsome of the tanks but not being a professional sign writer my shoddy workmanship will have to do.
A few small creases and bubbles that are too stubborn to budge. They may not actually be noticable when fish are in the tank.
A few progress photos.

Nice, i will tell you this. you will see them, but no one else will. Could you get black? Because i like black. But thats my opinion.

Ok, so it is 1am and I need to stop.

Got backing on 6x 4ft tanks and 2x 3ft tanks. I have 2 tanks with sand and filled with heaters on. I will fill the filters with some used filter media tomorrow and get some fish in them to keep the filters alive.

Tomorrow will be a day of washing sand. It takes almost 25kg to fill each 4ft tanks. I can see I will need more sand. I hope to have atleast 2 more 4fts filled and heating tomorrow.

Next will be to silicone towers of 3 small terracotta pots to form the 'rock work'. I need it light and easy to fit through the limited space between the racking and tanks.

I also have to organise 5 extra hoses for the filters so they can reach the middle tanks.

And special thanks to my wife for helping put the tanks on the shelves and the photography!

Putting sand into the tank.

Are you gonna board up the front part of the shelves to make them look pretty.

I gotta' say, I am jelous. This looks amazing. Great job so far. I am going to follow along. I can't wait for new updates. And I have to agree with Aquarium1. It does look like a fish store.

Just a few pics before I go to bed. My poor wife, bless her cotton socks, has been a fish room widow for almost 3 weeks now. Got to get this done so the house can get back to normal!

5 of the 4ft tanks are up and running with fish.....

That is looking great so far, totally jealous of your fish room. Good work! Looking forward to seeing how it looks when you're done.

Not sure how I'm going to do this....( I know "how" to do it... not sure what I want yet) I don't mind the industrial look. Functional and more money to spend on the actual fish.
