Yer gonna want more shells in a tank with any shellie species, includin' occies. Figure on 3-4 shells per fish. I use escargot shells, the best deal I've found is here: Escargot Shells, Large Empty - 24 pcs: Amazon.com: Grocery & Gourmet Food

They feed primarily on small invertebrates in the wild, but will eat anything small enough to put in their mouths in a tank. They don't form as tight a colony as some other shellies, such as brevis or multies. Never kept 'em with plants, so don't know if they tear up plants or not, but I suspect not. Like I said before, don't think I'd add too much more to yer tank.
