Ive allways heard not to keep south american cichlids with african.
Ive been seeing pictures and videos on youtube with tanks with africans and south american mixed,, and none of the fish chase or try to kill eachother. Ive even seen african cichlids with angels.

Whats up with this?

People that have mixed tank are just waiting for trouble. As fish mature their behavior changes. Africans with angels I can only laugh about that! Thats just like keeping cats with tigers! Eventually tail snipping and A LOT of aggresion will destroy a mixed tank. Keep with their own kind. :D

THANK YOU!!! Took the words out of my mouth.
All african cichlids do is chase eachother around and biting. Angels and african cichlids is a mistake waiting to happen.

In some cases, it does work. But for each one of these, there'll be ten cases that ended up horribly.

You're dealing with different water parameters, decor needs, diet needs, behaviour and territory and aggression differences... the list goes on and on.
