How big do they need to be before you can accurately diferentiate the sex?

Also, to my knowledge, one egg spot on the anal fin means female and multiple egg spots means male. Is this correct?

Egg spots are not a accurate way to ID, venting the most accurate way to do this.

Male or Female?

This may seem difficult but after a few attempts you will get the hang of it.

Thank you very much for the link. What would you say constitutes a sexually mature adult? Most of my africans are 2 to 3 inches.
