Could two yellow labs live in a 20 long tank with rock structures at opposite ends?

Only thing I would use a 20 long for labs is a fry tank/nursery. Smallest I would go with any malawis really is a 40 breeder. Maybe you could consider some shell dwellers or rams.

Thanks for the advice! Are there any yellow shell dwelling cichlids? It's the only color I can see that's why I ask

I'm not sure on the shell dwellers as I'm not that informed on them but there are German golden rams which are beautiful.

Yeah, look into rams, they are really, really pretty. Make sure you have a well established tank before you add them though.

Those German golden rams look great. Could I do a pair or only a single fish?

Just an update the labs were rehomed and I'm going with a single GBR along with a school of neon tetras and glo fish. So far there are 9 neon tetras and a clown pleco in the tank. All the rocks are on the drift wood until it sinks so it looks a bit odd. Waiting on a new lighting system to begging growing some low light plants :)
