panda goby?

I bought a 12 gallon aquapod for my wife for her b-day. She wants to do a reef tank. She is interested in the panda goby for her first fish. She is also interested in sexy shrimp. Any thoughts on these? Good for that tank size?

Also, Do we need to wait until the tank is cycled to introduce the shrimp?

TIA!

Both very good for that size tank. Ya gotta admit though, that panda is a cutie. He'll perch on rocks and coral. Whatcha thinking about the next fish?

Now, if the birthday is coming up, that means you got that much time, plus 2-4 weeks to put the first fish in, so you got time to think.

Keep us posted.

Birthday came and went. She has the tank and it's cycling with 10 lbs of live rock. It's looking very nice, very clear. She also has interest in a dwarf angel. Maybe a coral beauty. Is that going to be a problem for the panda? I dunno what else she is interested in putting in there. These are the things she mentioned.

You definitely do not want to introduce any livestock to an uncycled tank. I can't think of an anglefish that would be happy in any tank smaller than 30 Gallons, plus, most of them are not reef safe. You could take a look at these Nano Fish and maybe get some good ideas.
