is the clown simply spitting the food back out right after it puts it in its mouth? If so then its possible the food is to large in size for the fish to eat easily and its trying to 'bite' off some of it or simply does not like the taste of it. Try to make the food smaller in size and see if that helps.

I'm sorry, It died today. Well, I had to kill it. It sunk, leant against the glass and stayed there, didn't eat for a week.
