Can you give a speces name? The goby I think of as a diamond goby probably won't, it has no need of the shrimps digging capabilities and would most likely cause cave ins on the shrimp.

I have a orange banded prawn goby who is inseperable from his best buddy, a pistol shrimp. they are captivating to watch, going under one rock and popping out 10 inches away from under another rock! They took to each other immediatly. The shrimp will rearrange your substrate. IMO it's worth it. hope this helps.

BTW, the goby will become somewhat territorial, meaning if anything gets to close to the shrimp, the goby will defend "his" shrimp fiercely.
