Filstar XP2 & bio-media balls

I have a Filstar filter and want to use the bio media balls in one of the compartments. Wondering if anyone out there has a similar setup and is using the bio balls and if it helps the biological filteration. If anyone is familiar with this filter, which compartment should they be placed in? Thanks!

I would not suggest bio-balls for surface media, instead try >>Bio Max<<. There will be much less chance of trapping detritus and has more surface area. Place it in the center basket and remember to rinse it at least once a month to remove large particle build up using syphoned tank water. Do not use plain water.

Cheers
Steve
