I am building a 29 gal tank with 10 gal sump. i was planning on going with a Mag 3, however I was given an iwaki MD 15 so i am going to go with that. Obviously the mag is a submersible pump and the iwaki is external. I had planned my sump out for the mag but now need to figure out how to set up the Iwaki.
My question is should i just place the pump next to the sump and run tubing over the sumps edge and secure it in place? I was even thinking about making a shelf inside my sump and having the pump elevated higher than the sump's water line.
Would placing the pump higher help at all?
Im concerned about having two seperate lines coming from the pump.
(i would have drilled my sump had i known i would be using this type of pump)
any insight would be greatly appreciated,
John
