How many Crabs

I have a 45 gallon FOWLR tank,and I have started to buy hermit crabs.How many should I get for this size aquarium? What kinds do the best job?

I would start out with 20 for a 45, I would get an assortment of blue legs and scarlet reef hermits and some dwarf zebra hermits. Be aware though, hermits are not considered 100% reef safe. They can become aggressive towards corals if there normal food supply runs out, no crab is completely herbivorous, they are omnivores and opportunistic.
