is it normal for a torch coral

is it normal for a torch coral to have brown stringy slimy looking stuff coing from a few heads during which time it is closing up

Yup... sounds normal... assuming it's coming from it's mouth. There's only one way in and out of these things, so it's just ridding itself of the waste from the food it took in earlier.
