Go for it. Btas are very hardy. They don't split too often in a tank by themselves. But you can propagate them by cutting them in half. Tons of you tube videos out there on how to do this.

That's awesome. My rose has split only once in 2 years. I keep hearing stories of other folks' btas splitting a few times every year.
