Should LR be placed on the glass or on the sand??????????? does it really matter

I got it on both. If it up against the glass you will have difficulty cleaning the glass in that area without moving the rock.

i have mine on the sand, i later read that it should be placed on the glass to prevent "avolanches". i havent had any probems, but i dont have anything that digs either.

Well I got it in the tank and of course the sand clouded up again but hopefully this will help stop that issue as others have suggested it will :-D

Some sand settled on the rocks Should i get a Baster n blow it off?

I use 4" wide pvc couplings which stick out of the sand an inch or so to put the rock on. this keeps it up so that the whole surface is used for filtration. also it's stable.

i ordered mine 2 day air when i got it there wasnt very much die off ordered from marinedepot

The rock has arrived and i scrubed off the die off with a new toothbrush in a SW bucket and placed it in my tank (since im cycling anyway) MY water color seems to have changed..... lol Is it my eyes playing tricks on me or is it possible that the water has ome particles from that new rock in it now and will clear up after a while????
Any thoughts?

All sounds normal. Let the tank cycle. Keep reading the articles, search the older posts for cycling questions, diatoms, algae questions, etc. and of course post your questions here as they arise.

mine kinda looked kinda greenish but after a few days my filter cleared it up

If it doesnt clear up in a few days ill put the water polisher in :) that works like a charm every time :)
