Red mushrooms are now almost solid white but green mushrooms look great. Any ideas why?

well, a picture and more details would help. What are your parameters? How long have they been in the tank? Has anything changed in the tank?

Mushrooms overall are quite hardy. When I had a pair die they turned grey and melted. I would assume this would be the same thing, but without more information I can not make a def decision.

They are actually spreading. They open up every morning and close at night. It's dark now but will post pics tomorrow.

I've had the green ones for about 3 months and the ones in question for about 1 month or 2. Salinity is 1.025-1.026. Temp. 78.I've been set up since Christmas 2011. 55 gal tank. Only three fish and none of them mess w the mushrooms. I only test amonia and nitrates. Lights go on at 8 off at 8. Dosing purple up but didn't seem to do anything so I stopped.
