Are coreys ok in semi blackish ?

I think they do not tolerate salt well, but try asking jeta directly. He has A lot of experience.
 
Salt will not help to bring your nitrites down. PWCs and time is the only thing that will work. Salt will protect their gills some.

Some say cories are intolerant of salt, others say they don't care. I tend to err on the side of caution and won't add salt to a tank with them in it.
 
Corydoras and Brackish Water

I have large tanks of Corydoras and Livebearers and add a teaspoon or a little more to every 5 gallons of my water change water and my Corys are fine. I change a minimum of half the tank water weekly.

A little standard aquarium salt has been used in freshwater tanks for decades as a general " health tonic" for freshwater fish.
