Betta Harem Tank

Hey all, With my 46 Gallon tank being set up, I will gave a 29 gallon tank that I was going to sell, but my grandfather seems interested in it and I might just give the 29 To him.

I was pondering the idea of setting up a Betta-harem tank for, One male Betta and between 3 and 5 femae bettas plus some bottom dwelling cory cats. Since I already have the substrate, It will be a heavily planted tank. Now i've heard some people have these type of tanks with mixed success, but the searches i've done this has been attempted in 10 gallon tanks.

Could a Betta harem be successfully kept in these conditions?

If you do this idea might I suggest that you take out the cories. In this setup, the male would try to mate with the females. The three to four females would redirect aggression but you would still have bullying.
