Black algae

So I just bought a new decoration for my tank that is used. It looked like it was black and naturally colored. But upon closer inspection it looks like black algae. I have scrubbed it down multiple times but it's still there.

How do I make sure it is all gone before I can assume it is safe for my tank?

Bleach or h2o2 would do the trick.

So does it get soaked in either? An at what percentages Do I mix it?

If bleach, I'd do 10:1. If it's h2o2, I'd just do a full strength soak. A couple minutes would be fine.

Seeing is how I'm soaking in my tub bleach it is

Yeah, it wouldn't be nearly as economical to go out and buy that much h2o2... haha.

Oh joy, it looks to be all gone, just going to soak it for ten min in regular water to make sure the bleach is gone! I can't wait to get it in my tank!

Soak in 5x dechlor water. That'll make sure all the chlorine is gone.
