Black phantom tetras - what to feed?

Thanks everyone for all your great suggestions in my previous thread about compatible fish. I'm taking the advice to cycle the tank completely before adding any more fish. So for now, its just the 3 of them.

One question I have is about feeding, they aren't dive-to-the-top-for-the-food eaters, they just sort of wait for the flakes to fall and then scoop them up. Sometimes they'll actually eat them, but often they will spit the flakes right back out again. Is this normal? Do they not like the flakes? I read they like brine shrimp or bloodworms too. I'm going to head out and buy some of those to see if they go over better.
 
tubifex worms, brine shrimp and just about anything else you can put in the tank.

Caution: Since you have a small amount of fish, be very careful with the worms and shrimp...they will float to the bottom fairly quickly if not eaten.
