So I finally got around to cleaning my tanks, and noticed moisture droplets in my submersible heater. This means I got a leak, right? Could it just be condensation because of the cooling room temperature?

I'm looking at getting new heaters anyway, I want ones with an external control.

Sounds like a leak to me. Like your wristwatch, condensation inside means a bad seal somewhere. I would buy a new one.

Aren't heaters made with a double glass layer? I thing the condensation is due to moisture in the air between the glass and the temperature difference between the heating element and the water. I have see this many times on different heaters that were working properly. I have never worried about it when I have seen it.

I would inspect it closely to see if the condensation appears to be on another layer of glass as mattrox suggests.. I have seen this before.. I just didnt give it alot of thought..
you did say you wanted a replacement.. and won bro's have high reviews.. that would explain the price..
